My 11-year-old daughter is a real animal lover, and we’d love to get her either 2 dwarf hamsters or 2 mice for Christmas. Could anyone weigh in on which ones would make better pets? Does anyone know their respective life spans? And, finally, we’d like to buy from breeders, not pet stores. Does anyone know any mice and/or dwarf hamster breeders in west Los Angeles?

We rarely go on vacation but this year we are planning a trip to Europe for a month. Have a dog and two cats. We are new to this town and don’t really know anyone. Whenever I’m going to the bathroom, my dog always runs in and clamors for attention. Consistently when I’m using the toilet. When I’m at a friend’s place, whenever I’m using the toilet, the cats run in and rub up against my legs. What is this insane attraction of pets to their owners when they are on the john? I just don’t get it! So curious.
